Online Tutoring

Ladybug Tutors develops tutoring resources, monitors each student’s progress, identifies areas needing improvement, helps with homework and prepares students for tests.  Each student experiences dedicated one-on-one attention and is treated individually according to their needs.

Ladybug Tutors begins each session by asking the student if they have questions.  Then we proceed to their homework and check in with class progress to ensure they are keeping up.  Following each session, Ladybug Tutors will submit feedback by email to the student’s parents reporting the session’s focus and outcome.

Tutoring schedules are determined by the parents or by the parents with the advice of the teacher.  Schedules can be modified at any time.

Fees and Payment

Ladybug Tutors fees are $50 per 30-minute online session for Grade 2-7 students and $65 per 30-minute session for SSAT tutoring sessions.

Payment in advance is required for an entire month before the beginning of that month via an Interac transaction.

Trial Lessons and Discounts

To discover whether the student and Ladybug Tutors are a good match, Ladybug Tutors offers a 50% discounted session to assess the math skills of each student. Ladybug Tutors will submit a written assessment following the session in advance of a commitment by the parent to tutor their child.

Notice of Cancellations

Full lesson costs for cancellations or no-shows are charged.

Cancellations are handled on a case by case basis in the event of illness or other extenuating circumstances.

Travel Conditions & Charges

For exceptional on site tutoring at the student’s home, travel time will be charged.

Holidays

Tutoring services will pause in tandem with the school’s schedule.

The specifics of each student’s holiday plans can be discussed as holiday time approaches.

Termination

Two weeks notice are required in writing by the student’s parent to cancel tutoring services.

Initial Assessment

Ongoing Feedback

At the end of each session, Ladybug Tutors will provide written feedback by email on what was covered and the student's progress.

Fees

Introduction = a special introductory offer

1 one-hour session includes -

• introductions

• discovery of the student's goals

• clarification of the limitations in mathematics the student is experiencing and why

Outcome -

• a written assessment of the student's capabilities and gaps in learning in mathematics

Following the assessment if we agree to proceed, parents will determine the frequency and dates for ongoing tutoring sessions with a recommendation from their child’s teacher.

Each session following our Introduction = $ 50 / 30-minute session or $100 / 60 minute session to be paid in advance per month

Each session includes -

• preparation and follow up with the student

Outcome -

• progress, feedback and assessments by email for the parent and the teacher

The frequency of tutoring sessions can be increased, decreased, or terminated at any time with 2 weeks by written notice.

Exam or Quiz Preparation - sessions are designed to take the student through a sample exam or quiz provided by their teacher

• the student writes the exam under similar examination circumstances with no assistance in a quiet environment

• the exam will be marked and the results will be evaluated

Outcome -

• a review of the exam or quiz noting traps with tips to succeed

Our fees are dependent upon the type of exam: final, mid-term, or quiz.

Boot Camp - 3 sessions to brush up and sharpen the student's math skills before the next term

Location

We are offer tutoring services in an online environment using Cisco (WebEx).

Exceptions include -

• my home, free of distractions including a rest area for parents

• the student's home
